What is Counter Strike and how to play it?

When we were younger, there were no kid that didn’t know what is Counter Strike. Today, of course, many kids don’t know because they are to busy by using social networks and watching different videos on YouTube.

Counter Strike was launched in year 1999 and became very popular shooter game in 2000 and it is still pretty much popular in many countries. Many people remember about the game and they want to play it again because it was too good to just forget it. It made a special addiction which was not possible to treat easily. I fought with that only by deleting Counter Strike 1.6 from my computer. It always sucked you in and a lot of hours passed by even without noticing that. Like after 5 or 6 hours you start to feel hungry and then you understand that were playing this game way too long.

I don’t regret that I played it with my friends because we all were in this game and if you didn’t know the latest results or who won the game yesterday or other things related with the game you were most likely outsider or class nerd.

Even at schools somehow we managed to play the game without teacher catching us. Of course they understood that we weren’t studying when they checked our tests but we didn’t care much. We were young and we needed to have some entertainment at school as well.

There are lot of ways how can you play it but the most popular are:

Internet servers – people from all over the world join some servers where the game is running. This is the best one because you don’t know the people, you don’t know their playing style and you can meet new players all the time. Otherwise it is getting boring if someone is just leading the game all the time and you cannot win him. Sometimes server can be very far away. In this case there is a possibility that the game will be slower and it can lag;

LAN – to avoid lagging or other similar problems you can create your own LAN game with your friends. This is the style how we played it at school. We knew exactly what we should do to create servers, how other can connect and how to make fun game with others. Advantage is that we were always making teams that are pretty much the same in strengths;

Computer (bots) – there are always possibility that you don’t have an internet connection or there are no available servers or other problems. You can download special bots that are adapted to this game and play with them. Problem with some bots are that they may not work in some maps because they weren’t programmed to play in them. Before you get any bots you better check which maps you want to play and that they would work great in them.
